Kansas Mom Shoots Home Invader

posted on October 19, 2015

A woman was home alone with her child shortly after midnight in Overbrook, Kan., when she heard a series of noises. She soon found Bruce Jolly in her house. When the suspect allegedly ignored her demands that he leave and took another step toward her, she fired a single shot and hit him in the abdomen. Police reported receiving a call from the homeowner and, five minutes later, a second call from the wounded suspect seeking medical attention.

The woman will not be charged for shooting the suspect in self-defense. Her neighbor made a statement of support: “I would have taken the exact same action that she would have. I believe she did the right thing in protecting her child from an unknown (man).”
