NBCUniversal Gives Hillary Clinton Three Days Of Free-Media Saturation Coverage

With four appearances on four NBC-related properties in just three days, the NBCUniversal media conglomerate gave Hillary Clinton fawning coverage that left media and political consultants shocked, Politico reports. Over a 72-hour period starting Saturday night, Clinton was hosted as a guest on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live,” on MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton,” on a “Today Show” town hall, and in an interview on Telemundo.

Although this seemingly saturation coverage left some critics wondering whether an incestuous relationship exists between the Clintons and the media who seek to cover or curry favor with them, NBC News declined comment; SNL didn’t respond to a request for comment; and a Clinton campaign staffer reportedly insisted, “It was a coincidence.”

In another apparent coincidence, the Clinton camp released an online ad Monday excerpting an NBC News story suggesting that Congress’ Benghazi investigation is part of a plot to defeat Clinton.
