Hillary Attacks 5 Million Law-Abiding Americans

Hot on the heels of proposing several restrictive new anti-gun laws that would only affect law-abiding Americans, Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has launched a vicious attack on the nearly 5 million law-abiding members of the National Rifle Association.

At a campaign stop in Mount Vernon, Iowa, Clinton compared the NRA to “the Iranians or the communists.” She then, incredibly, lambasted NRA members for believing that the government might be out to ban their guns—shortly after releasing her latest plan that would, wait for it, … ban so-called “assault weapons.” (Duh, aren’t those guns?)

In truth, Clinton’s presidential campaign is on the rocks as a result of a number of scandals she has been involved in, and she’ll say nearly anything right now to cater to her far left-wing base. She should note, however, that millions of NRA members and other gun owners are also listening to her bitter name-calling.

Armed Citizen Stops Carjacking In Progress

A man reportedly entered a convenience store in Plymouth, Penn., acting strangely and then attempted to get into a stranger’s car outside. After failing, he reportedly ran across the adjacent highway and tried to pull a woman out of her car while her children were in the back seat. “She was yelling, ‘My kids are in the car, my kids are in the car,’” said the woman whom he first accosted.

According to the Times Leader, the car crossed the highway and approached the store while the suspect struggled with the driver. At this point, customer Rob Ragukus, who had just pulled up, drew his firearm on the attempted carjacker. “I have a license to carry this gun, don’t move!” he said.

Police had already been called and took the suspect into custody, and the woman driving the car received no major injuries.

Gun Sales Continue To Break Records In September

The Federal Bureau of Investigation processed a record number of background checks in September, indicating that firearm sales for the month were the highest in recent history.

The actual number of sales is likely higher since multiple firearms can be sold under a single background check and sales between private parties are not taken into account.

The summer of 2015 overall has also shattered gun sales records. A staggering 8.25 million background checks were processed through the FBI between May and September, nearly a million more than the same period of 2014.

The summer has also seen an increase in calls from Democrats for new gun control laws—likely not unrelated to the sales increase.

Tennessee: Where A Park Isn’t Really A Park

In April, Tennessee enacted a law allowing concealed-carry holders to take handguns into parks. For law-abiding gun owners planning to attend the Tennessee Valley Fair in September, that was good news. At least, it was until the city of Knoxville pulled an end-around that resulted in guns being banned. Their tactic: claiming that Chilhowee Park wasn’t in fact a park, but an entertainment venue where the law wouldn’t apply.

At least one resident wasn’t happy. Pandora Vreeland had planned to attend the fair with her husband, a retired police officer, until they learned guns were banned. Now Vreeland is suing the city, claiming they violated state law by turning Chilhowee Park into a gun-free zone.

Vreeland’s lawsuit has NRA backing. “The 5 million members of the NRA stand in full support of the plaintiff and look forward to a positive resolution,” said Lacey Biles of NRA State and Local Affairs.

Jerusalem Mayor Urges Citizens To Carry A Gun

TheBlaze reports that on Thursday, the mayor of Jerusalem said it was “imperative” that Israelis with permits carry a weapon … as he does.

In an interview with Israel’s Army Radio, Mayor Nir Barkat said, “I think it’s important that gun carriers who are skilled and have experience carry their weapons with them, especially given the (current) tension.”

Barkat is reacting to the surge in stabbing, shooting and rock-throwing attacks over the past month. There were four such attacks on Wednesday alone; in all of the incidents, all those attacks were stopped either by police, soldiers or citizens. “Many terror attacks in Jerusalem have been prevented or neutralized due to the quick actions of responsible bystanders,” his office said.

Barkat, who is a licensed and trained gun owner, knows whereof he speaks: In February, he personally tackled a knife-wielding Palestinian who had just stabbed a Jewish pedestrian.

Details Emerge On New Anti-Gun Federal Legislation

Democratic lawmakers in the U.S. Senate announced a new campaign for gun control, combining a sweeping call for “universal” background checks with redundant measures. Anti-gun “usual suspect” Ed Markey, D-Mass., announced a plan to require background checks for private transfers, closing what opponents misleadingly call the “gun-show loophole.” Among the other goals are making straw purchasing and arms trafficking federal crimes—which, last we heard, they already are.

Harry Reid, D-Nev., said that he and fellow lawmakers “call on Republicans to join us in this effort.” Meanwhile Markey encouraged his peers to “… say NRA stands for Not Relevant Anymore …” on the political scene.
