A Warner Robins, Ga., man shot and killed another man who tried to rob him on Christmas night, according to local police.
Police say Antonio Bagley, 29, told them Jerrell Walker tried to rob him, so he fired his pistol at him. Walker later died from a gunshot wound to the torso.
Bagley has not been charged, and the case is still under investigation.
Harvey Lembo Faces Further Difficulties
We’ve informed A1F Daily readers of the plight of retired Maine lobsterman Harvey Lembo here and, more recently, here. Now the disabled senior citizen, who defended himself with a firearm, is running into more problems.
Lembo’s landlord, Park Place Associates, has asked a judge to throw out the case. The property company lawyers argue that notifying Lembo that he could face an eviction if he did not follow house rules was insufficient to trigger the protection under the Second Amendment, according to the Bangor Daily News.
Of course, many see the case differently. “Threatening to evict Mr. Lembo for defending himself clearly violates his constitutional rights,” NRA Maine State Liaison John Hohenwarter said last month after Lembo sued. “Self-defense is a fundamental, God-given right that belongs to every law-abiding American—no matter their tax bracket, zip code or street address.”
Texas Woman Shoots Home Intruder
A north Harris County, Texas, woman used her legally owned firearm to protect herself from a home intruder on Christmas Day, shooting and wounding a man who tried to break into her apartment.
Deputies told local media that the man was trying to climb in through a window when the woman fired several shots, striking him twice. The thief retreated to a waiting car, and later showed up at Houston Northwest Medical Center seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.
The woman was unharmed, thanks to her quick action.
