Amy Schumer Keeps Stumping For Gun Control

Actress and comedian Amy Schumer is using her twitter following of 2.7 million to rally support for stricter gun control after the mass shooting in San Bernardino—tweeting Thursday, “Text ‘enough’ to 877-877 for the public to tell congress directly that we want background checks on ALL gun sales. Do it now! I did!” When someone texts as directed, they receive a message from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, transferring them directly to their senator based on area code.

Schumer also tweeted, “U.S. Senate vote today on gun violence. Will your senators stop dangerous people from getting guns? Ask them: http://tinyurl.com/qeww2dn,” which links to contact information for all members of Congress. The “Trainwreck” star has been an outspoken advocate for stricter gun control since a man shot and killed two at a Louisiana screening of the film—making multiple appearances with her cousin Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and mocking gun owners in a sketch on SNL.
