Anti-Gunners Gone Wild, Sort Of …

posted on April 10, 2015

It seems unlikely that anyone is surprised by anti-gun protests at the NRA Annual Meetings, and Nashville’s 2015 gathering will be no different, according to a story appearing in The Tennessean.

Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America organizers are planning a rally on Saturday in Riverfront Park, and the numbers are sure to be small. Their precise message to the expected 70,000-plus attendees is murky, though organizers posit that they’re “countering the gun lobby’s dangerous agenda and rallying for safer gun laws.” How these gun laws will be different and more effective than the thousands criminals already ignore remains unspecified.

Perhaps hardest to take are the ongoing claims of organizations like these to be “grassroots” or respecters of the Constitution. As A1F has frequently pointed out, these groups are anything but. They’re helmed by handpicked media pros and just as frequently receive lavish funding from the usual anti-gun suspects—Michael Bloomberg, et al. And all, quite frequently, from inside an armed security cordon.
