Strike Up The BANd

In the latest attempt to defy laws and deny law-abiding citizens their constitutional rights, the organizer of a popular music festival in Norman, Okla., is calling for a ban on firearms. Claiming their special-event permit lets them set the rules, organizers with Norman Music Alliance are requesting that festival-goers leave their guns at home.

The Oklahoma Second Amendment Association has filed a lawsuit in response, seeking to stop the ban. Regardless of the outcome, they plan to have members in attendance. “We will peacefully carry,” said Don Spencer, vice president of the association. “We will peacefully not resist any officer, and we will take it up in court.”

Despite their request, the Norman Music Alliance claims to be “a supporter of every amendment in the Constitution.” It’s the same song, different verse for the anti-gun crowd, who never quite seem to recognize their own hypocrisy.
