New California Bill To Dodge Pro-Gun Ruling

A bill under consideration in California seeks to reinstate a procedure previously declared illegal by a state court. AB 1134 would allow sheriffs to enter into agreements designating local police chiefs to handle carry license applications, circumventing last year’s ruling that such agreements should not be honored.

The bill appears intended to provide a means for sheriffs to shirk their responsibilities and force gun owners to endure prohibitive red tape in order to effectively defend themselves. California residents are encouraged to use the “Write Your Lawmakers” form at NRA-ILA.org to state their opposition to this harmful piece of legislation.
