Armed Citizen Saves Oklahoma City Officer

When two police officers in Oklahoma City split up to chase a pair of robbery suspects, events took an unfortunate and nearly tragic turn. The junior officer caught up with his suspect in the driveway of a home but ended up struggling with him. Eventually the suspect managed to commandeer the officer’s police baton and began striking him on the head with it. At this moment, a passerby pulled a firearm on the suspect and held him until backup arrived. The police officer was hospitalized, but was released the next day. He owes the arrest—and quite possibly his life—to the timely intervention of this concerned citizen.
