Texas: PETA Blasts Proposed Right To Hunt As "Bloody Pastime"

The Virginia-based radical "animal rights" group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) this week attacked Texas' plan to offer voters, on this November's ballot, a proposed constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to hunt and fish.

Calling hunting a "bloody pastime," PETA's senior vice president, Lisa Lange, told the San Antonio Current that the proposed amendment is "bizarre and frivolous"—maybe because such constitutional protections, now in force in 18 other states, would block PETA's goal of outlawing all hunting and fishing.

Use Your Power

Indeed, as NRA Institute for Legislative Action Executive Director Chris W. Cox noted, "Adoption of the Right to Hunt and Fish amendment will safeguard the hunters and anglers of Texas from extreme animal rights groups dedicated to abolishing America’s outdoor tradition." If you’re in Texas, please let your representatives know about your support for the amendment here.
