Americans Want Their Guns

A new Rasmussen poll shows that Americans overwhelmingly prefer living in neighborhoods with guns. Sixty-eight percent of the voters surveyed said they would feel safer in a neighborhood where guns are allowed. Only 22 percent would feel safer living in a gun-free neighborhood.

Anti-gunners will likely find the results of this poll to be surprising—but they shouldn’t. Police officers can’t be everywhere, and they typically arrive after a crime has been committed. So to keep the crime from happening in the first place, it’s up to us to protect our homes and loved ones. And let’s face it, if you’re a criminal, which neighborhood would you target—the armed one, or the unarmed one?

We can only hope that legislators and lawmakers pay attention to this poll. Americans don’t want gun control. They want their guns.
