Ben Carson Pleads The Second

posted on July 23, 2015

With some Second Amendment advocates voicing concern about his support for the right to keep and bear arms, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson has come out firing to clarify his position on private firearm ownership.

The soft-spoken neurosurgeon told TheBlaze.com on Tuesday that people’s uncertainty about his stand on the Second Amendment stemmed from his political inexperience when first addressing the issue, and he clarified his earlier statements about guns in inner cities.

“What I was trying to get across is that the place where dangerous weapons are most likely to fall into the hands of crazies are crowded places,” he said. “They are not likely to happen in some remote place. But in no way do I think we should restrict the rights, particularly the rights of law-abiding citizens to have guns.”
