Fighting Back Against The Latest Obama Gun Grab

posted on July 23, 2015

According to a recent Los Angeles Times report, President Barack Obama’s latest gun-control effort could strip Second Amendment rights from millions on Social Security, deeming them “prohibited persons” under federal firearms law because their affairs are managed by a representative payee.

Recognizing that a Veterans Affairs policy already in place has affected around 177,000 veterans, the NRA vows to prevent the measures from being implemented.

“The Obama administration will stop at nothing to strip as many people as possible of their Second Amendment rights,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. “The NRA will employ all means available to prevent the implementation of such a widespread injustice.”

NRA’s efforts have already prompted Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee to send a formal letter to the Social Security Administration’s acting commissioner, demanding a response by July 31.
