Convicted Rapist Shot During Arkansas Home Invasion

A violent home invasion in Damascus, Ark., ended when one of the victims in the home shot one of the alleged intruders, according to the sheriff’s office

The homeowner, Donna Salvo, 42, said she was awakened by breaking glass around 5:30 a.m. on July 10, and found a man standing in her bedroom. The suspect, 36-year-old Jonathan Hill, a convicted rapist, then allegedly grabbed a shotgun, pointed it at Salvo and pushed her down on the bed. Hill later held a knife to the throat of a friend of the homeowner’s, Cornenia Dillard, 70, who was sleeping on a couch in another room.

When Hill returned to Salvo’s bedroom, Dillard shot him in the abdomen with a small handgun before being struck in the back by Stacy Wright, 38, an alleged accomplice of Hill’s, who then fled the house with him. The two were later arrested at a nearby hospital.
