Bloomberg, FEMA And Your Tax Dollars

We’d hesitate to call it a surprise, but it is certainly disappointing: Michael Bloomberg is organized enough to build his own mega-fortune and create various groups to disarm Americans, but when it came to orchestrating the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA and taxpayer money to protect New York City, things didn’t go well.

A DHS report revealed this week that prime terror targets NYC and the state of New York had no defined goals for spending roughly $67 million in grants designated to improve public safety. As a result, many of those taxpayer dollars are being spent at the extreme margins of federal guidelines—or outside them. Taxpayers for Common Sense President Ryan Alexander summed up: “The common thread here is not enough oversight and not enough planning, and no self correcting along the way.”

No wonder The Washington Times has awarded a “Golden Hammer,” given weekly for examples of fraud, waste and abuse of taxpayer dollars.
