Sheriff’s Deputy Shoots Assailant At Home

Tiffany Oakley, a sheriff’s deputy in Bradley County, Tenn., was returning to her home when she reportedly spotted a man lurking in the shadows. She told the suspect, Allan F. White III, to stop and show his hands, but he continued to advance toward her. Oakley then attempted to subdue him with her Taser, but she says that he continued advancing and began to choke her.

Only then did Oakley draw her service firearm and shoot White, who died in the hospital. The deputy was also hospitalized, with a department spokesman calling her “bruised up pretty good,” but she is expected to make a full recovery.
