Florida Legislative Panels Clear Campus Carry Bill

posted on September 18, 2015

Legislation in the Florida House and Senate that would end the state’s moratorium on the Right to Carry on college campuses was approved by criminal justice committees in both chambers Wednesday, clearing the way for consideration by the Tallahassee statehouse.

Passage of the reform would correct the current situation on college campuses, “where murderers, rapists and shooters can commit crimes without fear of being harmed by their victims,” said former NRA President Marion Hammer, who leads the Unified Sportsmen of Florida, which has strenuously supported the bill.
