Story Of Murdered New Jersey Woman Featured In Freedom’s Safest Place Campaign

Most A1F Daily readers know the story of Carol Bowne, the New Jersey hairdresser murdered in her driveway by her convicted felon ex-boyfriend while she waited for the state of New Jersey to approve her handgun permit. Just two days before her murder, Bowne had called state authorities wanting an update on the permit, which had been “processing” for more than a month.

Bowne’s story is told in the latest Freedom’s Safest Place video by NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre.

“Carol Bowne didn't choose to be utterly defenseless when her predator stabbed her to death in her driveway two days later,” LaPierre says in the 90-second spot. “That choice was made by the state of New Jersey. Government policies that deny us our right to defend our lives are not just ineffective. They are IMMORAL.”
