Off-Duty Houston Officer Stops Armed Robbers

posted on January 1, 2016

An off-duty Houston police officer turned the table on two armed men who decided they wanted to take the personal firearms he was selling, rather than pay for them.

When the off-duty officer pulled up to a public park to meet with the buyers, the transaction soon turned into a gunfight. “[One robber] tells him, ‘Give me all you’ve got, or I’m going to kill you right here,’” Victor Senties, a Houston police spokesman, told local media.

According to police, the robber pulled the trigger, but his pistol jammed. After a brief gun battle, the robbers fled the scene, running through a nearby residential neighborhood. Houston police are investigating the incident.
