Texas Homeowner Fights Off Home Invader

A crook trying to break into the front windows of a Pasadena, Texas, home last week got more than he bargained for.

Police reports indicate that the man kicked in the windows and attempted to enter the home, even getting his hand inside. That’s when, according to family members of the residents, both occupants inside the home opened fire.

The suspect, who was shot several times, was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital afterward. Police say at this point no charges have been filed.

Armed Florida Homeowner Stops Break-In

A Florida homeowner was forced to shoot a suspect trying to break into his home earlier this week.

The suspect, whom deputies identified as 25-year-old Emanuel Edgardo Sosa Lopez, tried to break into the home in the Azalea Park neighborhood in east Orange County. But the homeowner used his firearm to stop the break-in.

According to media reports, the suspect fled to the Florida Highway Patrol office a short distance from the home. Orange County deputies were called, and Sosa Lopez was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Houston area family returned home on Tuesday night to find a man armed with a knife in one young daughter’s room.

Adults in the home confronted the armed intruder, and a male resident shot him in the leg. The suspect was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

The homeowner has not been charged with any crime. The case will be sent to a grand jury.
