Homeowner Fights Off Armed Robbers

posted on January 27, 2016

When a man approached a residence in Slidell, La., Sunday night, claimed vehicle trouble and asked to use the telephone, the home’s resident became suspicious. But when a second man stepped from behind some bushes wearing a mask and pointing a handgun at the residences, the homeowner’s suspicions were confirmed.

In response, the homeowner pulled out his own pistol and and exchanged gunfire, sending the men fleeing from the scene.

Authorities later arrested three men—one while seeking treatment for a gunshot wound at a nearby hospital—and charged them with attempted armed robbery with the use of a firearm. Media reports indicate that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
