NRA’s Iowa Affiliate Helps Raise $5,000 For St. Jude Hospital

Second Amendment supporters in Iowa have raised more than $5,000 for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Mitchell Arms, the Iowa Firearms Coalition and the Iowa Firearm Owners Alliance joined forces to raise funds for the hospital by donating cash and merchandise to be auctioned off at a fundraising event, which netted more than $3,350.

To increase the monetary gift to St. Jude, the coalition funneled the cash through a WLLR Radio telethon and offered to match any donation made by WLLR listeners—nearly doubling the initial contribution. The check was presented Friday during a WLLR broadcast, and the fundraisers were recognized in a live interview. Funds will be used to research, treat and prevent catastrophic childhood diseases.
