NRA Tweet On Sanders No Surprise

posted on March 9, 2016

The so-called “mainstream” media’s feigned surprise over an NRA tweet saying Bernie Sanders was right about the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) at a recent presidential debate is simply political posturing.

During the debate, Sanders said, “If you go to a gun store and you legally purchase a gun, and then three days later you go out and you start killing people, is the point of this lawsuit to hold the gun shop owner or the manufacturer of that gun liable?” Sanders asked. “What you’re really talking about is ending gun manufacturing in America. I don’t agree with that.”

NRA later tweeted: “Sen. Sanders was spot-on in his comments about gun manufacturer liability/PLCAA.”

Of course, Sanders’ statement doesn’t make him pro-gun, as he still supports many other restrictive proposals that won’t curb violent crime, but will negatively affect law-abiding gun owners. But it shows that he at least has some understanding of the danger of rolling back the PLCAA.
