Radio Station Anti-Gun Facebook Post Backfires

Last Tuesday, a Colorado Springs radio station posted a photo of a lunch counter customer openly carrying a safely holstered Glock with the question, “If you were in a public place, would you feel comfortable with this sitting 10 feet away from your children?”

However, the anti-gun bias in the phrasing of the question backfired. By Monday, the post from 98.9 Magic FM had gone viral, with the overwhelming majority of the more than 100,000 responses being an enthusiastic, “Yes!” Comments continued to skyrocket throughout the day, with supporters of the arms bearer outweighing detractors roughly 30-1:

“He’s a guy having a meal. What’s wrong with that?”

“Yep. Happens all the time. Sometimes they’re in uniform.”

“Feel comfortable with that guy? Um, usually I AM that guy.”

“I would be more comfortable with the gun nearby, than if my kids were listening to your station without supervision.”
