Armed Massachusetts Store Owner Stops Robbery

A Bridgeport, Conn., minimart owner used his handgun to fend off a pair of armed robbers earlier this week.

According to local media reports, two masked men wearing hoods entered the store with guns drawn. One cocked his gun, but before they could demand money, the store owner grabbed his own gun and fired one shot, sending the duo fleeing. “I know they came to rob me, they came to shoot me or whatever but always you for to protect yourself,” the store owner told ABC7 New York. “I got family to feed.”

A neighbor told the news station, “[He] has never really been a coward … if you come and threaten his business, he’s willing to protect his business.”
