Vermont Guns? Hillary’s Bernie Bash Not Based In Fact

Vermont.

That state, says Hillary Clinton, is the fount of countless guns used criminally in New York, as they sneak across the northeast border. However, there seems to be a lack of facts behind the charge. Linking Bernie Sanders’ home state’s comparatively loose firearms laws to New York’s excessive crime continues Clinton’s tactic of claiming Sanders is soft on gun control—a presidential primary hot button. However, federal government data shows that of all the guns recovered in New York, less than 1 percent were purchased in Vermont—proving Clinton is telling yet another lie. For instance, out of more than 7,600 guns recovered and traced in New York in 2014, only 55 came from Vermont. During that same time, 371 were from Pennsylvania, 395 from Virginia and 386 from Georgia.

Not surprisingly, Clinton’s new claims about illegal gun trade out of Vermont comes as polls show the candidate’s 20-point lead of a week ago is dwindling daily to the equally anti-gun Sanders.
