Police Chiefs Endorse Ayotte In N.H. Senate Race

Several New Hampshire police chiefs are featured in a new advertisement endorsing U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., in her critical Senate race against NRA F-rated challenger Gov. Maggie Hassan.

“Kelly voted to keep guns out of the hands of terrorists,” Nashua Police Chief Don Conley said in the ad. “And Kelly is a leader in closing gaps in the mental health system,” said Berlin Police Chief Peter Morency. The spot ends with Atkinson Police Chief Al Brackett saying that Ayotte “supports common sense solutions—to protect our constitutional rights—while making New Hampshire safer.”

Campaign spokeswoman Liz Johnson believes voters will know the truth when they hear it. “Voters won’t be fooled by misleading attacks from Gov. Hassan’s Washington special-interest allies who are desperate to distract from her repeated absences from the state,” Johnson told the Washington Examiner.
