Police Say Tulsa Man Shot Attacker

posted on May 27, 2016

A Tulsa man used his firearm on Monday night to stop a man who was attacking him in his yard, according to local media reports.

Police told the Tulsa World that an apparently drunk man was running around a south Tulsa neighborhood “acting oddly” so police were called to investigate. While police were questioning neighbors, the man allegedly attacked an elderly man who was working in his yard.

According to police, the homeowner said the man approached while he was doing yard work and punched him in the back of the head. He said the attacker then continued to beat him and even “mounted” him to hit him. That’s when the homeowner pulled his handgun and shot the man in the neck, ending the attack.
