A Kansas liquor store clerk used his firearm to stop two armed robbers who were holding up his shop on Tuesday.
According to local media reports, two armed men entered MGS Liquor in Park City, Kan., around 10:40 p.m. The clerk later told police that one of the men asked “if he was ready to die because this was a robbery and to give them all the money.”
Not ready to die, the clerk pulled his own gun and fired two shots, hitting one of the men, who ran from the store. The clerk held the uninjured robber at gunpoint until police arrived. The injured armed robber was later admitted to a Kansas City hospital for a gunshot wound to the chest.
Nearly Every News Network Ignores Katie Couric’s “Under the Gun” Deception
As of Thursday evening, the news broadcasts of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC and the Spanish-language networks Telemundo and Univision had yet to broadcast a single word about the deliberately deceptive "editing" used to make gun owners appear stupid and uncaring in Katie Couric’s so-called documentary “Under the Gun,” Newsbusters reports.
Couric’s hatchet job was so dishonest and misleading that even the Washington Post, The New York Times and the CNN Money website were forced to cry foul—indeed, a Washington Post media critic wrote, “In the years we’ve covered and watched media organizations, we’ve scarcely seen a thinner, more weaselly excuse” for the deception. But, apparently their colleagues in the broadcast media see nothing wrong.
With liars like Katie Couric and Brian Williams “editing” the major network news broadcasts into a hash of deceit, is it any wonder Americans are pulling the plug? Next stop for Katie: Mad magazine!
London Sending Armed Police To Dangerous Areas
Gun-ban advocates in the United States would have you think that England is a crime-free fairytale country, now that most citizens are disarmed under restrictive gun-control laws. But that’s simply not the truth.
In crime hotspots of London like Hackney, Lambeth and Southwark, police chiefs say there are “more guns on the street,” fueling a “significant” increase in shootings and other violent crime. To battle the increase, the 50 officers involved in Operation Viper will aim to crack down on gun crime in six specific areas—with marksmen accompanying officers on traffic stops.
“Clearly in some areas there is a gang element to it, but that doesn’t account for all of it,” Met Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe told BBC.com. “The fact that we’re seeing it across the country in the big cities probably indicates that we’re talking about more supply (of guns).”
Could it be that violent criminals are simply ignoring the gun-control laws already on the books? Who woulda thunk it?!
California’s Newsom Lashes Out At Transgender Gun Activist
California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, whose sweeping new gun-control initiative will be on the fall ballot, has put himself squarely in the midst of a heated battle with the transgender community. It began with one woman’s opposition to his proposed legislation.
“If Gavin Newsom gets this passed, how will transgender women like me be able to protect ourselves?” inquired the Facebook meme. Newsom’s response? He slammed the NRA and accused them of using the transgender community to fight their battle. “One of the most disgusting things you’ve ever done,” he tweeted.
Newsom’s bogus claims of exploitation quickly led to an angry backlash from the LGBT community. Nicki Stallard, the woman in the meme, says her group is not affiliated with the NRA, nor do they appreciate Newsom’s suggestions that transgender people don’t use guns. “He is promoting victim disarmament, and his proposals will get innocent victims killed,” Stallard said.
