Boston Real Estate Developer And Gun-Ban Zealot Launches Anti-Gun Super PAC

posted on June 28, 2016

Boston real estate mogul John Rosenthal, whose anti-gun billboards near Fenway Park have been a landmark for over a decade, has launched a super PAC called “Don’t Be A Target” that will target Republican U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire for her defense of the right to keep and bear arms, the Boston Globe reports

Unlike traditional political action committees (PACs), so-called “super PACs” can raise funds from individuals, corporations, unions and other groups with no limits on donation size. But Rosenthal apparently is glad to engage in shady politics, having left his six-year post on the board of the anti-gun Brady Campaign to launch the American Hunters and Shooters Association, a front group for the anti-gun lobby.

Rosenthal’s new super PAC will be funded by a Kickstarter campaign and by proceeds from “The Concert Across America To End Gun Violence”—an array of concerts held in 40 cities across the country on September 25.
