Clinton Calls Gun Control A “Civil Rights Issue”

posted on June 29, 2016

Hillary Clinton is again calling for gun control, but now she has a new name for it: civil rights. During a speech Monday in Chicago, the Democratic presidential candidate stated, “I think saving our children and other people from gun violence is a civil rights issue right now in America.”

Given her spotty record on American history—she recently confused the Constitution with the Declaration of Independence—it’s unclear whether Clinton is aware that a civil right is one which protects an individual’s freedom from infringement. Because she’s doing the exact opposite—Hillary isn’t fighting for your rights, she’s fighting to strip your rights.

Ironically, Clinton made this pitch in one of the most gun-controlled cities in the nation. The Windy City, despite all of its laws, is on pace to far surpass last year’s homicide total of 2,988. But that inconvenient truth was left unmentioned during her “civil rights” plea.
