There’s Still Time To Pass Illinois Suppressor Legislation

Since the Illinois General Assembly must return to Springfield for a summer session to pass a budget, gun owners have another opportunity to try to get important suppressor legislation passed.

NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action worked with pro-gun lawmakers and the American Suppressor Association to pass Senate Bill 206, which would legalize the possession and use of suppressors in Illinois. The House passed SB 206 by a 69-to-46 vote during the regular session and sent the measure to the Senate. Unfortunately, the Senate adjourned before bringing the measure to the Senate floor for a vote.

Illinois gun owners are encouraged to contact their state senator, and also call Senate President John Cullerton, to urge them to call to the floor and pass SB 206 during this summer session. You can phone Cullerton at (217) 782-2728, and contact Cullerton and your state senator by clicking here.
