NRA Debuts Pro-Trump TV Commercial

posted on July 1, 2016

The NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) launched its first television commercial of the presidential election cycle Wednesday in support of Donald Trump. The 30-second ad features Mark “Oz” Geist, a Marine Corps veteran and CIA security contractor who led the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012 that saved the lives of 25 people. Four Americans died in the terrorist attack.

“Hillary as president?” Geist asks in the TV ad. “No thanks. I served in Benghazi, my friends didn’t make it.” The commercial ends with a “Stop Hillary now” message.

“We cannot trust Hillary Clinton with our gun rights or our national security," said NRA-PVF chair Chris W. Cox. He promised the NRA will help “ensure that voters understand the consequences of a Hillary Clinton presidency.”

NRA’s $2 million national ad buy will run in key battleground states, including Colorado, Ohio, Nevada, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maine. Watch the spot here.
