Facebook Suspends Account Of Anti-Gun Internet Troll

A San Francisco-based web designer who started his own crusade to “monitor” Facebook’s ban on private gun sales has had his account suspended.

This week, Mike Monteiro bragged, “I think we’ve gotten more than 1,200 gun sellers suspended from Facebook.” He followed up with, “It’s easy, man. You can do it while you’re on the bus, you can do it while you’re on the toilet.”

Facebook only bans the private sale of guns; gun enthusiast groups and licensed dealers can still maintain pages. However, Monteiro searches for all pages that contain “gun sales” and immediately reports them to Facebook. On July 4, he tweeted about Facebook, “I started reporting them. They banned me.”

Monteiro’s brand of Internet trolling is especially virulent. In July 2015, supposedly in response to a professor lauding the design of the AK-47, he ranted: “F*** no. F*** him. F*** the AK-47. F*** all guns and the people who design them … and f*** all of you who do.”
