Restrictive Virginia Measure To Be Considered Today

posted on August 31, 2016

This morning the Department of General Services is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s executive order to permanently ban the concealed carry of firearms in executive branch offices. The hearing is set for 10 a.m. at the Pocahontas Building Auditorium, 900 E. Main Street in Richmond.

If approved, law-abiding concealed-carry permit holders would no longer be able to carry a firearm and exercise their right to self-defense in state agency offices.

It is important that NRA members and other Second Amendment supporters attend this hearing and voice their opposition to this gun ban. The hearing is open to anyone who wishes to speak. Speakers are limited to two minute comments and must sign in at the hearing. Sign-in begins at 9 a.m.

Use Your Power!

Virginia gun owners who are not able to attend can still make their voices heard on this issue. Submit written comments on the proposal by clicking here.
