Review Shows No Open Carry Problems At RNC

In the lead-up to last month’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland, gun-ban advocates declared that Ohio’s open carry law would result in massive problems. In fact, they predicted nothing short of Wild West shootouts in the street, and suggested that the governor should temporarily suspend the law (which he did not).

And as usual, they were wrong. A recently released review of arrests and police activity during the convention shows that there was little problem with guns, period. In fact, on Wednesday authorities told guns.com that of 23 RNC-related arrests made by Cleveland Police during the week of the convention, there were no open carry arrests or issues.

Once again, law-abiding gun owners weren’t a problem to anyone—just like they aren’t every other day of the year.
