Illinois Legislators Introduce Anti-Gun Legislation

posted on October 11, 2017

Illinois lawmakers have seized on the grand old Democratic strategy of not letting a tragedy go to waste. Last week, Democratic state Rep. Marty Moylan filed legislation that WVIK called a “gun control advocate’s wish list.”

House Bill 4107 would ban the sale of so-called “assault weapons,” “high-capacity” magazines, .50-caliber rifles and bump stocks. Any resident currently in possession of a semi-automatic rifle could keep the firearm, but would need to have it registered.
