Poll: Americans Say Trump Administration More Truthful Than News Media

In what will only be a surprise to the so-called “mainstream” media and Donald Trump haters—all too often one and the same—a new poll shows Americans trust the Trump administration substantially more than they trust the news media.

As reported in The Hill, a new Emerson College poll revealed that the Trump administration is considered truthful by 49 percent of registered voters and untruthful by 48 percent. At the same time, the news media is considered truthful by only 39 percent of voters, with 53 percent calling media “untruthful.”

While it must sting, the poll shouldn’t be a big surprise to the media. A Gallup poll last year revealed that only 20 percent of Americans still have confidence in newspapers, while their TV counterparts only drew 21 percent confidence.

The new Emerson poll, conducted Feb. 5-6, had a margin of error of 3.9 percent.
