Las Vegas Homeowner Shoots Drill-Wielding Attacker

posted on February 14, 2017

If you’re going to attack a man with a knife and an electric drill, it’s best to make sure he can’t trump you—with a gun. That’s exactly what happened last weekend in a quiet northeast Las Vegas neighborhood.

Las Vegas Metro Lt. Grant Rogers told KSNV-TV NBC that a homeowner was doing maintenance on his vacant residence around 7:45 a.m. when he was approached by the suspect. The attacker was armed with a knife and a power drill, and when he advanced, the homeowner reached for his gun.

“The homeowner pulled out his firearm and shot the suspect once in the leg,” Rogers said. “The suspect took off running and a neighbor called 911. The suspect was transported to UMC with non-life-threatening injuries.”
