Texas Smoke Shop Employee Shoots And Stops Armed Robber

posted on February 21, 2017

Last Friday a man burst into the Shisa Smoke Shop & Game Room with a gun, demanding cash and threatening employees and customers. What happened next? You could say the would-be robber got smoked.

Investigators say that the suspect, 20-year-old Cedric Brown, entered the establishment with a stolen gun just after midnight. Picking up the story, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton told The Waco Tribune-Herald an employee saw Brown and, “due to the suspect’s criminal behavior and placing others in fear of their lives,” the employee fired at the suspect with his own gun.

Responding officers found Brown lying on the floor, having sustained gunshot wounds to both the leg and shoulder. The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries. During the robbery investigation, Temple police discovered Brown has an outstanding theft warrant and arrested him on that charge, and additional charges from the robbery are pending.
