Ohio Dairy Queen Employee Creams Would-Be Robber With One Shot

Speaking of “just desserts,” a little past 10 p.m. on Sunday night, a man walked into a Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Dairy Queen and proceeded to point a gun at the employees—then he demanded all the money. What he got was a bullet for his troubles.

Police tell Fox 8 News that a DQ employee, who holds a CCW permit, drew his gun on the suspect and fired once. The bullet stuck the would-be robber, who then fled the store on foot. The suspect was apprehended a few hours later near the Interstate 271, and taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening wounds.

Mayfield Heights investigators have not released the identity of the suspect, nor of the employee who stopped the robbery with just one well-placed shot.

Experts—Cincinnati Gun “Buyback” Not Effective

Cincinnati, in the grip of increasing violence, is looking for ways to make residents safer. The latest effort, though—a gun “buyback” held on Monday—won’t cause a ripple in crime rates, said criminal justice experts.

“They really want to do something meaningful, but they are hurting,” noted Illya Ibbott. “We need to find ways to sustainably go after this problem.” University of Cincinnati criminal justice professor John Eck concurred. “There is no evidence they are effective,” he stated. “It is sort of like bailing out a stopped bath tub with a thimble while the water is running.”

Eck understands that the crime problem in Cincinnati is not one based on the supply of guns, but on the criminal demand for them. And Ibbott suggested more effective solutions toward that end. “I think we need more police on the streets,” he offered. “We need a lot more police presence not only when something happens, but before it happens.”

Comedy Legend—You “Gotta Be Nuts” To Think Gun Control Saves Lives

Comedy legend Jackie Mason really gets it when it comes to gun control, and he’s not afraid to explain the issue to anyone willing to listen.

“Everybody who’s fighting for gun control, you know what they’re doing?” Mason asks in his latest video for Breitbart.com. “They’re causing more and more people to get killed, that’s exactly what they’re doing.”

Mason also addressed politicians who push for gun control while being protected by their own armed bodyguards.

“What do you think these bodyguard are carrying, cheesecake?” he asked. “So a gun is there to protect him, because he doesn’t care if you live or die.

“Do you know how sick it is to claim that you’re protecting a guy by not allowing him to carry a gun?”

ACLU Continues To Counter SSA Gun Ban Lies

With many in the so-called “mainstream” media continuing to rail that Congress is trying to arm the mentally ill, the ACLU—no friend to gun owners over the years—took to USA Today on Tuesday to rebut those lying about the rollback of the Obama SSA gun ban.

“The American Civil Liberties Union does not oppose gun control laws,” wrote ACLU’s Vania Leveille, senior legislative counsel, and Susan Mizner, disability counsel. “But gun control laws, like any law, should be fair, effective and not based on prejudice or stereotype. This rule met none of those criteria.

“We opposed it because it would do little to stem gun violence but do much to harm our civil rights.”

We have repeatedly said the same thing over the past several weeks. Perhaps the media will be more likely to believe ACLU, who typically sides with gun-banners on such issues.

Pro-Gun Bills Head To House Floor In North Dakota

The Peace Garden State may soon make life more peaceful for gun owners. Two pro-gun bills have passed through committee and are now headed to the House floor in Bismarck.

House Bill 1169 would allow North Dakota residents to legally carry a concealed firearm without a permit. Gun owners could still obtain a permit if desired for purposes of utilizing reciprocity agreements with other states. But for those who wanted to be protected wherever they went, HB 1169 would give them that right.

A second piece of legislation, House Bill 1310, would enable concealed-carry permit holders to carry guns at schools, assuming education officials were in agreement. The Senate has shot down a similar measure in the previous two legislative session, so make sure you let your representatives know that you support this bill.

Use Your Power!
