Pickaxe-Wielding Intruder Stopped By Armed Alabama Homeowner

posted on March 2, 2017

After a suspect used a pickaxe to splinter and shatter three doors, the owner of the Alabama home had more than enough evidence to see this invader had something brutal on his mind—and he had to act.

The intruder was breaking through the doors of the Elite Marine, which was the owner’s home as well as business. Foley, Ala., Police Captain Thurston Bullock told FOX-10 that it was a “violent” invasion that woke the homeowner, and he “had no choice but to defend himself.” Which is exactly what the man did, firing two shots and fatally wounding the suspect.

Investigators say homeowner did not know the intruder, but they do believe the suspect had an accomplice. Another man was seen fleeing the area on foot, and was then picked up in a car. K-9 units were used to search a wooded area behind the establishment, but nothing was discovered.
