Mississippi Governor Encourages 2A Activism

posted on May 3, 2017

Speaking at a college leadership forum at the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits in Atlanta, Ga., over the weekend, Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant urged students to become Second Amendment activists.

“If you think the Left isn’t coming for your guns, look at Australia,” Bryant was quoted as saying in a report at Guns.com. “The only thing the Left is upset about, the only thing they fear, is the Second Amendment.”

Bryant himself has a history of Second Amendment activism: Last year he signed a measure that made Mississippi a “permitless” carry state, where law-abiding citizens are no longer required to get a permit from government to practice their right to armed self-defense.

“If there’s an active shooter at the capitol, I’m not going to hide behind my desk,” Bryant added. “I’m going to put some lead downrange on someone.”
