NRA’s Richard Childress Calls For Protecting N.C. Hunting And Fishing

NASCAR legend Richard Childress has written an editorial for The Charlotte Observer in support of two bills that are currently making the rounds in the state legislature. The legislation would help protect and expand the right to hunt and fish in the Tar Heel State.

Introduced by Senators Danny Britt, Andrew Brock and Norman Sanderson, Senate Bill 677 would amend the state constitution to safeguard the right to hunt, fish and harvest wildlife. House Bill 559, sponsored by Rep. Chris Millis, would allow for hunting on Sundays. “These bills will ensure a fish and wildlife legacy for our future generations,” writes Childress, and he encourages readers to call their elected representatives and voice their support for the measures.

Childress is the chairman and chief executive officer of Richard Childress Racing. He also serves as NRA’s first vice president and is chairman of the NRA’s Hunting, Wildlife and Conservation Committee.
