Domestic Violence Victim Kills Attacker Who Broke Into Apartment

posted on June 19, 2017

Gun-ban advocates who claim that domestic violence victims shouldn’t have a gun to protect themselves will have a hard time convincing one Florida woman, after events of this past week.

A Jacksonville woman, who had been physically abused in the past, shot and killed her ex-boyfriend early Wednesday morning after he broke into her apartment.

According to local media reports, the woman knew her attacker and had been a victim of domestic violence in the past. Law enforcement officers told reporters that the victim had purchased the gun a year ago after the man strangled and nearly beat her to death.

In this case, despite the naysayers, it’s likely the victim would not be alive if she hadn’t had a firearm to protect herself.
