Following NRA Protest, Women’s March Makes Hero Out of Cop Killer

posted on July 19, 2017

If there has been any doubt about the true agenda of the Women’s March leaders—Dana Loesch and Antonia Okafor spoke out about Tamika Mallory, Linda Sarsour and Carmen Perez here and here, respectively—it has been laid to rest.

On Monday, the group tweeted a Happy Birthday to “the revolutionary Assata Shakur.” If the name doesn’t ring a bell, Shakur—aka Joanne Chesimard—was convicted of first-degree murder in 1977 for killing a police officer. She was found guilty on other charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a weapon and armed robbery. Sentenced to life in prison, Shakur escaped from prison in 1979 and fled to Cuba, where the now 70-year-old still lives. Shakur is on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list and there is a $1 million reward for information leading to her arrest.

To this convicted murderer, escaped felon and domestic terrorist that the FBI labels as “armed and dangerous,” Women’s March organizers wished a cheery Happy Birthday. Celebrating cop killers and protesting a woman’s right to self-defense—it’s certainly been a banner week for the Women’s March.
