Domestic Assault Suspect Shot By Woman In Self-Defense

Anthony Evans showed up again. Pounding on the door where his ex-girlfriend lived with their three children and another women, a place he had terrorized several times in early August. So his former girlfriend hid the children and went to talk. That’s when Evans threw her to the ground and attacked.

The Omaha World-Herald reports the ex-girlfriend managed to struggle away, but Evans followed, hitting her in the back with a pipe and claiming he would kill everyone. However, another woman grabbed a firearm, and when Evans said, “Go ahead and shoot me,” the woman obliged—firing and striking him in the lower abdomen.

Police found the suspect lying in the back yard and transported him to the Nebraska Medical Center, where he was treated and released into custody. Evans, who already has felony convictions, was charged with domestic violence assault and terroristic threats. Evans’ ex-girlfriend suffered a broken arm, but no one else was harmed.
