President Donald Trump is outpacing the two previous presidents when it comes to filling seats for federal judges, with the U.S. Senate signing off this week on his fifth pick.
FOX News reports that the president appointed Kevin Christopher Newsom, an attorney from Alabama, to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Newsom is President Trump’s third circuit judge appointment, along with one district judge and Neil Gorsuch for the U.S. Supreme Court.
“The Trump administration has moved faster on filling judicial vacancies compared to the past administrations, thanks to its commitment to working with and extensively consulting all senators, regardless of political affiliation, to select high-caliber nominees,” said White House spokeswoman Kelly Love. We look forward to these judicial appointments leading to a court system that pays greater respect to the original intent of the Second Amendment.
