Virginia Races Remain Close Despite Injection Of Bloomberg Cash

We previously reported that anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg is throwing around more money in another effort to promote his favored candidates for governor and attorney general. But there’s a chance that Virginia can once again thwart his attempts to buy his way into state politics.

The Bloomberg-backed Everytown for Gun Safety has reportedly donated about $300,000 to incumbent Attorney General Mark Herring’s campaign and $700,000 to the campaign for gubernatorial candidate Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam. Yet despite enjoying the advantage of already holding office, both Herring and Northam are only polling about 5 or 6 percentage points ahead of their Republican challengers, as reported by The Daily Caller.

Pro-Second Amendment candidates in Virginia are facing a tough battle, but this is still anyone’s game. Virginia voters should relish a second opportunity to send Bloomberg back to New York with his tail between his legs.
