Tony Holmes Talks About Shooting

Competitive shooter Tony Holmes was asked: How were you introduced to shooting?

“My dad, who was a police officer and competitive shooter himself introduced me into handgun shooting and then began the many hours of practice, which led me to competing at local and state matches. My first match outside the state was in 1983 at the Second Chance Bowling Pin Shoot in Central Lake, Mich., where I finished in the top 10 in the revolver event and won my first gun. Winning that gun was the start to what has now become not only my passion to compete in the shooting sports, but a love of the game and I’ve gained so many friends within the sport worldwide.”

Tony started competing in 1974 at the age of 13 in NRA High-Power and Small-bore Rifle matches. Throughout Tony’s professional competitive shooting career, he has consistently proven himself as a top competitor in a variety of shooting disciplines, which includes IPSC, Action Pistol, Long-Range Silhouette Rifle. But its 3-Gun that remains his favorite shooting discipline.
